Mastery with a jeweler's saw is a basic skill every metalsmith needs. Practice makes perfect and this is just the class to fine-tune your skills.
This class teaches the basics of using the jeweler’s saw and beyond. Kate shares all of her tips and tricks to help you develp mastery over this essential tool. Students learn the steps needed for sucsessful sawing including transferring a design to metal, piercing, texturing, filing, finishing, and polishing. Students will choose from vintage-inspired designs to make a pierced pendant.
Class Date: Saturday, August 14, 2021.
Class Hours: 9:30 am-10 am for tech check and introductions.
Instruction hours 10 am-4pm Pacific Time with a one hour break
Platform: This is a virtual class with live demonstrations and class interaction via Zoom. This class will be recorded and the recording will be available after the class is completed. Students will need a computer or mobile device enabled with the Zoom platform
Class Fee: $125. Fee includes class project handout and live instruction. Students will receive a link to access a class recording after conclusion of the class for reference.
Optional Class Materials Kit available: $25. Kit includes copper and brass sheet, a premade twisted jumpring, two drill bits for piercing, sandpaper and polishing pads
Tools are not included in cost of class and students are expected to have all tools on the provided tool list.
