Citric Acid is a great alternative to traditional pickle.
 
How to use: 
Fill pickle pot with water and then add granular pickle to avoid splashing. The ratio of picle to water is 8:1.
Use tweezers of any material with this solution.
Add more water as necessary, and you may add more granular pickle if the solution looses its affectiveness.  
Works for pickling silver, brass, nickel, copper and gold.
 
Kate's Notes: I like this non-toxic pickle. I switch back and forth between this product and Sparex and they both work effectively. Use warm for best results. After pickling, rinse pieces in a baking soda and water bath to neutralize any acid residue, followed by a good rinse under running water. 
 
I rarely make a new batch as I keep adding water and pickle to my current pickle pot, but when I do, I pour it into a jar and let it evaporate. This solution is biodegradable, non-toxic, and may be disposed of down the drain.
